Contemporary design is surrounded by objects created to respond to trends and immediate needs. Stonemade, a Mexican stone design house, starts from this idea to reclaim a material built to last—one with the ability to connect people with the objects around them and the spaces they inhabit.

This interpretation of contemporary design called for an identity that could make visible what sets Stonemade apart: the use of Mexican craftsmanship and techniques to shape stone, transforming the history held within it into pieces designed to withstand the passage of time and reshape the aesthetic experience of the home.

We resolved the tension between the inherent solidity of stone and its ability to take on new meaning through design by making it the foundation of the visual identity. We developed a visual system rooted in the strength and minimalism of Stonemade’s pieces and paired it with an element deeply rooted in Mexican culture: the ocelot, a figure traditionally associated with balance that became the heart of the graphic language. Geometric illustrations, simple forms, and grainy textures complete the system.

This new visual language allows Stonemade to talk about its products without relying on them. Illustrations can represent pieces, spaces, and situations, while textures translate the materiality of stone into the graphic language.
